DVI SWITCH BOX - Ports - 2 Female DVI OUT / 1 Female DVI IN
This LEGEND DVI Switch Box is a
Bi-Directional Switch Box. In effect it has two modes of operation. It
allows you either:
- to switch between two inputs to one output, for example switching between
the output from two PCs going to one monitor or
- to switch one input between two outputs, for example one PC or Video Box
going to two different monitors.
DVI Offers significant advantages over analogue A/V connections. DVI
connections include the ability to transmit compressed digital video and audio
content. The DVI Switch Box enables you to link two different digital sources to
your TV. With the DVI Switch box, you can connect your input sources such
as a DVD player, set top box, satellite etc. to your TV. You can select your
input source by pushing a button.
Don't put up with continual swapping of cables or be put off from full HD
Video because of cable swapping. Use a DVI Switch Box to swap between sources.

Q. I would like to connect 2 computers one with 1920 x 1200 resolution
and the other with 2560 x 1600 resolution. Can the Legend SBSVI2P 2-Port DVI
Switch Box 2-Port DVI Switch Box switch 2560 x 1600 pixels?
A. Maybe, maybe not, the Legend SBSVI2P 2-Port DVI Switch Box is
specified to handle 1080p - which is 1920 x 1080 with maximum frame rate of
60Hz.
Doing the sums for 1920x1080 gives the bandwidth requirements.
(1920+280) * (1080+45) * 60 * 10 * 3 = 4.455 Gb/sec
Doing the sums for 1920x1200 gives the bandwidth requirements.
(1920+280) * (1200+45) * 60 * 10 * 3 = 4.93 Gb/sec
It's not much over and will probably handle that.
Resolution of 2560x1600 works out to be 8.41Gb/sec at 60 Hz
(2560+280) * (1600+45) * 60 * 10 * 3 = 8.41 Gb/sec
This is substantially over what is specified. It might work depending on the
device driving the video, but it might not. Better quality cables might fix it,
but basically 1080i / 1080p is a bandwidth constraint, so the box may be
attenuating signals or cause bits to run into each at the higher rate. So you
might not see a picture or get pixilation, or blotches.
