POS Hardware Compatibility
Most POS Hardware is compatible with this software. Any POS Hardware which is
ESC/POS compatible, or uses CBM Codes is compatible. Any USB Scanner recognised
by Windows XP as a HID ( a keyboard device) is compatible, any RS232 driven cash
drawer or Printer Driven Cash Drawer is compatible. Most Scales with RS232
Interfaces are compatible.

Process sales quickly
With MYOB RetailBasics you can record your sales in two simple steps:
- Scan or select the items you are selling and click Process Payment.
- Enter the amount received and click OK.
If you want to discount individual goods or the total invoice value simply
enter the amount on the screen and all amounts will be updated automatically.
If your customers pay using multiple payment types, for example a mix of
cash and credit, simply enter the breakdown and RetailBasics will calculate any
change that needs to be given.
You can even handle lay-by purchases with ease. Record the initial lay-by
transaction, including the service fee and deposit, and then record each
subsequent payment that the customer makes. You can view the history of all
lay-bys with just a few clicks so you can answer your customers' queries
quickly.

Works with your POS peripherals
MYOB RetailBasics is ready to work with your existing POS peripherals
such as a barcode scanner, cash drawer, docket printer and scales.
With the Setup assistant you can set up your hardware easily and the quick
tests for each peripheral will ensure that they've all been set up correctly.
MYOB RetailBasics works with the following hardware devices:
- Barcode scanners
- A4 laser printers for printing reports and bar code labels
- Docket printers - minimum 40 columns
- Electronic cash drawers
- Customer pole displays
- Scales (selected Magellan, Toledo, and Wedderburn scales only)
Note that a communication port may be required for each device.
